What does a 16-year-old custom-built webshop do during the summer slow season? It moves to UNAS! In this case study, I’ll walk you through how we migrated the custom-built SportOutletStore.hu webshop to UNAS.
Background
I’ve known Attila for a long time. He’s been running several webshops for many years now — a seasoned pro. He first reached out to us a few years ago, I believe about a Merchant Center suspension. Agency after agency couldn’t help him, but that’s when we came in.
He had custom-built webshops, and one of the drawbacks was that tracking wasn’t set up properly — and, as it later turned out, security wasn’t exactly airtight either. Even back then I told him it would be worth considering a move to UNAS, since the era of custom-built webshops is slowly coming to an end. He was afraid to start, but now he regrets not doing it sooner.
The Tasks
Since these were clothing products, each item was available in multiple sizes and colors, so the total number of products was significant too. We split the migration into two parts. One task was building the look and functionality of the new shop, while behind the scenes we had to connect the custom-built ERP system to UNAS. For the latter, we chose Connestic, since they can automate any connection between UNAS and an external system in a matter of moments.
