Background:
Our client approached us with a recently developed new website. They had invested a significant amount of money into it, but it was not delivering the expected results.
Work:
We typically start our work with an SEO audit. It quickly became apparent that the issue was likely with the website’s engine. The site was built using Angular JS. Many developers favor this engine because it is fast and “modern,” but they are often unaware that it is not search engine friendly.
If you do a bit of research, you’ll find that it is considered particularly poor for SEO and not favored by Google. We had previous experience with such websites with another client who was unwilling to switch engines, resulting in no improvements. Therefore, we specifically recommended changing the engine.
The client wanted to retain the current design, which we respected and recreated using WordPress. After installing and configuring the usual WordPress SEO plugins, we launched the new site.
Results:
The results speak for themselves: all important pages were immediately indexed, and we saw improvements of 30-40 positions in various keywords. This was solely due to the engine change, as the content SEO had not yet begun.
Lesson:
Not everything that glitters is gold! Just because a website uses a “newer” technology, it can easily become a disadvantage in terms of SEO.
