What is search console?
Search Console, formerly known as Webmaster Tools, is a free tool from Google designed for website owners. Search Console Registration
In the registration process, you will need to choose a property type: Domain or URL Prefix.
Domain property or URL prefix?
Domain property
If you choose the domain property, you can track data across the entire domain in a single account. This includes all subdomains, whether they use www or not, and http or https. This option provides a unified view of your entire domain. The drawback is that DNS verification is required, which can be handled through your hosting provider. Some features may not be available in Search Console, but this method ensures you don’t miss any important parts of your domain.
URL prefix
If you only want to track a specific section of the domain, choose the URL prefix option. In this case, you’ll need to specify the exact URL you want to measure. For example, if you have a subdomain, you must create a separate account for it. Similarly, if your site is accessible with and without “www,” you’ll need separate accounts for each.
Search Console is an essential tool for website owners looking to optimize their organic search performance and stay informed about their site’s status in Google’s search engine results.
